Injury RTC - Around 6:50pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Berkeley Road in Pembroke near the junction with Mount Hill involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that a car had stopped to allow the pedestrian, a 9 year old Pembroke girl, to cross the road to retrieve a ball. However, when the girl attempted to cross the road again after retrieving the ball, she was struck by a motorcycle traveling north on Berkeley Road. The pedestrian sustained a cut to her right elbow and right ankle; she also complained of back pain. The 9 year old girl was taken to KEMH for treatment of her injuries which are not considered serious. The rider of the motorcycle, a 33 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured and the motorcycle was not damaged.

Witness Appeal – Fatal RTC

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 2:40am Saturday on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Valley Road (in the vicinity of Paget Shell gas station) which claimed the life of 27 year old Omar Sutton. Anyone with any information, particularly anyone who may have known Mr. Sutton’s whereabouts prior to the collision, is encouraged to contact PC Anthony Ricketts on 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 7 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 2 reported burglaries. There were also 11 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 7 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
