Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

At 3:50am on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with High Point Road involving two cars. It appears that one car was traveling west on Middle Road and the other car was traveling in the opposite direction when they collided side on. The westbound car the collided with a wall. The driver of the westbound car, a 28 year old Sandy's parish man, was taken to KEMH for treatment of a fractured left foot and released. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The driver of the eastbound car, a 31 year old Sandy's parish woman, was not injured. The westbound car was extensively damaged while the eastbound car was moderately damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 6:10pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Berry Hill Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:30am and 5:55pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a blue Sony Ericsson cellular phone. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 4:45pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Middle Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 6:50am and 4pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole several items of gold jewelry including a pair of 3 colour gold earrings, a gold chain with a hog penny coin pendant, a gold Hibiscus pendant and a gold twisted rope necklace with a locket. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
