Attempted Sexual Assault

Around 10:45am on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted sexual assault. It appears that the female victim was walking along a trail in the Warwick Long Bay/Horseshoe Bay beach area when she was approached by an unknown man who made sexual advances towards her. At this time a local couple who was walking their dog in the area observed the situation and intervened. The suspect temporarily made good his escape but was subsequently arrested by officers in the vicinity.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to acknowledge and commend the local couple for intervening in yesterday's attempted sexual assault. Thanks to their heroic actions, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service appreciates all of the assistance it receives from the community in tackling crime and continues to encourage individuals to do their part so that together we can keep Bermuda a safe place for residents & visitors alike.

Burglary

At 8:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Lily Park Lane, St. George's residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:30am and 4:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver Gateway laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
