Injury RTC - Around 1pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Front Street and Parliament Street in the City of Hamilton involving a taxi and a pedestrian. It appears that the pedestrian, a 59 year old Warwick woman, was walking across the pedestrian crossing at the junction and the taxi was turning from Front Street on to Parliament Street when the collision occurred. The Warwick woman sustained bruising and pain to her body. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and later released. The driver, a 52 year old St. George’s man, was not injured and the taxi was not damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Yvette Henry on 295-0011.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the actions of two men who were passing by at the time and assisted the victim.

Burglary

At 6:55pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 6:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the apartment while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of loose change.

Around 6:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime during the day an unknown culprit attempted to gain entry into the home while it was unoccupied; however it appears that nothing was taken.

Inquiries into these incidents are underway. A 45 year old St. George’s man has been arrested in connection with both the Rosemont Avenue burglary and attempted burglary.

At 5:55pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Beaming Hill, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:25am and 5:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 48” Panasonic flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:40pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Sun Valley Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 5:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
