Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - At 1:30am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Palmetto Road and Roberts Avenue in Devonshire. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on Palmetto Road when the rider, a 31 year old Hamilton parish man, lost control at the junction. The Hamilton parish man sustained a laceration to his head; however he refused medical treatment from EMTs at the scene and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

Around 8:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Montpelier Road in Devonshire near the junction with Happy Valley Road involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling north on Montpelier Road in the vicinity of the round-a-bout when it collided with the pedestrian, a 63 year old man of no fixed abode. The rider of the motorcycle, a 29 year old Devonshire man, sustained facial injuries, abrasions to his hands and an injury to his right ankle; however he declined medical treatment from EMTs at the scene. The pedestrian complained of pain to his right leg. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8:40am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the Botanical Gardens involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling east on South Road and the car was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old young man from Paget, sustained abrasions to his legs. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and released. The driver of the car, a 63 year old Smith’s parish woman, was not injured. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged while the car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
