Town Hall Meeting for Eastern Parish Residents

Residents of the eastern parishes (Smith’s parish, Hamilton parish & St. George’s) are reminded that a town hall meeting will take place at Francis Patton Primary School tonight (Tuesday, March 16th) starting at 7pm. The forum will discuss the state of affairs in the area for the past six months and attending Police officers will present upcoming policing initiatives for the next six months. Representing the Bermuda Police Service at tonight’s meeting will be Eastern Area Commander Chief Inspector Tracy Adams.

The purpose of these town hall meetings is to allow public feedback and discussion by residents of policing initiatives while emphasizing Police working in partnership with the community.

As outlined in the Bermuda Police Service Policing Plan 2010, citizen focus is high on our agenda. The basis of citizen focus is to obtain a clear understanding of what members of the public want; what matters the most and what is important to individual neighbourhoods and communities.

We look forward to seeing as many eastern parish residents as possible in attendance!

Advisory - Burglaries

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. We are reminding all residents to keep their valuables locked away & out of sight, ideally in a safe. In addition, the serial numbers of all ‘big ticket’ items (such as jewelry & electronics) should be written down and secured in a safe or separate secure location; in the event any of these items are stolen and later recovered, the information can be used to identify them. Finally, residents should make sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
