Injury RTC - Around 10:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the Botanical Gardens. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 37 year old Smith’s parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Smith’s parish man was found lying in the road by a passing motorist. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a head injury (suspected concussion). His injury is not believed to be life threatening. The motorcycle received minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 7:10pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Texas Road in St. George’s near the junction with St. Luke’s Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east along Southside Road on to Texas Road when the driver, a 23 year old St. George’s man, lost control. As a result the vehicle collided with a wall. The St. George’s man was not injured; however the car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries, as several took place over the weekend in various parishes throughout the island. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.

Town Hall Meeting for Eastern Parish Residents

Residents of the eastern parishes (Smith’s parish, Hamilton parish & St. George’s) are reminded that a town hall meeting will take place at Francis Patton Primary School on Tuesday, March 16th starting at 7pm to discuss the state of affairs in the area for the past six months and to hear the attending Police officers present the policing initiatives for the next six months. Representing the Bermuda Police Service at Tuesday’s meeting will be eastern Area Commander Chief Inspector Tracy Adams. We look forward to seeing as many eastern parish residents as possible in attendance!

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 12 reported burglaries. There were also 11 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 5 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 5 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
