Injury RTC - At 5pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Cambridge Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on Somerset Road when the rider, an 18 year old Pembroke woman, lost control. As a result the motorcycle fell to the ground. The rider complained of pain to her back and hip while her passenger, a 17 year old Pembroke woman, sustained an injury to her right foot. Both were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle received minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 11:05am on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury near the junction of Court Street and Church Street in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was exiting the HSBC Bank of Bermuda Church Street Branch and the motorcycle was traveling south on Court Street when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle and her passenger, a 19 year old Pembroke woman and an 18 year old woman respectively, were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of suspected back and leg injuries. The driver of the car, a 39 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. Both vehicles received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 5pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:20am and 4:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Dell laptop computer, a quantity of jewelry and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 12:15pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Roberts Avenue, Devonshire residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:45am and 12 noon that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
