Town Hall Meeting At CedarBridge

Mon, 2010-02-22

In keeping with the Bermuda Police Service Policing Plan 2010, a series of town hall meetings will take place during the year at venues in the eastern, central and western parishes to allow public feedback and discussion by residents of policing initiatives while emphasizing Police working in partnership with the community.

The first such meeting is scheduled to take place at Cedarbridge Academy on Wednesday, February 24th 2010 in the Cedarbridge cafeteria, starting promptly at 6pm. Residents of the central parishes (Paget, Pembroke & Devonshire) are invited to attend this forum to discuss the state of affairs in the area for the past six months and to hear the attending Police officers present the policing initiatives for the next six months.

As outlined in the Bermuda Police Service Policing Plan 2010, citizen focus is high on our agenda. The basis of citizen focus is to obtain a clear understanding of what members of the public want; what matters the most and what is important to individual neighbourhoods and communities. The Police use this understanding to deliver policing services that people find easy to access, relevant and useful to them.

On the panel Wednesday evening representing the Bermuda Police Service will be Acting Chief Inspector Othneal Haynes, Detective Inspector Terence Maxwell, Inspector Stephen Lightbourne and Acting Inspector Troy Glasgow. We look forward to seeing as many central parish residents as possible in attendance!

All media are encouraged to attend.
