The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

During the week of Monday, February 8th – Monday, February 15th 2010 there were:

  • Reported Injury Collisions = 16
  • Reported Damage Only Collisions = 37
  • Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving = 3
  • Vehicles Reported Taken Without Their Owners’ Consent = 10
  • Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: Hamilton parish = 1, Devonshire = 1, Pembroke = 3, Warwick = 1, Southampton = 2 and Sandys parish = 2.

All of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles. Of the 10 vehicles reported stolen, 3 were subsequently recovered.

Missing Juvenile - Troylene Anderson

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Troylene Anderson. The teenager was last seen on Tuesday, January 26th 2010. She is described as 5’5” tall weighing approximately 186 pounds with short curly reddish brown hair and is known to frequent the St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 17 year old Troylene Anderson is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 5:20pm on Monday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Tee Street in Devonshire near the junction with Berry Hill Road. It appears that a car was traveling north on Tee Street when the driver, an 84 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a wall causing the vehicle to overturn. The Devonshire man sustained a laceration to his right hand. Both the vehicle and the wall were damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
