Injury RTC - Around 10:50pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Tribe Road #3 involving a taxi and a bus. Details about how the collision occurred remain unclear; however the driver of the taxi, a 50 year old Smith’s parish man, sustained injuries to his chest & ribs. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the bus, a 44 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. The taxi received extensive front end damage while the bus received moderate rear end damage. As a result of the collision traffic in the area was temporarily reduced to using one lane. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 9:55pm on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Stovell Lane (in the vicinity of Coral Beach). It appears that two men on a motorcycle were traveling west on South Road when the rider lost control and collided with the sidewalk. As a result the rider was thrown over an embankment sustaining abrasions to his leg while his pillion passenger fell to the road sustaining abrasions to his left ankle & knee. The motorcycle received front end damage. The two men, a 20 year old Warwick man and a 21 year old Warwick man, were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries. The 21 year old Warwick man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving; however he passed the alco-analyser test. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
