From the Government Department of Communication & Information (DCI) - Public Advisories - The Island continues to experience severe and unsettled weather conditions which will remain in effect over the course of this afternoon and this evening.

The Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) anticipates that winds will gradually increase to between 40 – 50 knots, reaching hurricane force gusts by late afternoon and up to 9.00 p.m.

The Causeway will be closely monitored by the Bermuda Police Service and the Ministry of Works and Engineering during this time should the need to close it for short periods become necessary.

As an additional note, due to the deteriorating weather conditions, the Department of Marine and Ports has announced that all ferry service will be suspended from 1.30 p.m. until further notice.
