Reported Gunshots in Warwick - Around 2am today, Police received a report of what was believed to be a gunshot in the Cedar Hill, Warwick area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot report. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of what was believed to be a gunshot in the Ord Road, Warwick area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot report. Burglary/Assault

Around 10:20pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary/assault at a White Sands Road, Paget residence. The victim, a 54 year old Paget man, stated that was sitting in his room around 10:15pm that day when two unknown men gained entry into the premises and demanded money, with one of the men brandishing what was believed to be a firearm. The Paget man told the intruders that he didn’t have any money. The burglars briefly assaulted the victim, with the offender brandishing the suspected firearm using it to strike the Paget resident – until it broke. The suspects, described as two black hooded men, then made good their escape on foot. Pieces of an imitation firearm were recovered from the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Assault

Around 9:35pm on Thursday, Police received a report of an assault at Coco Reef Resort in Paget. It appears that the victim, an 18 year old St. George’s man, was at the hotel with friends when he was assaulted by the suspect, an 18 year old St. George’s man, with a bladed article. The victim and the suspect are known to each other. The victim sustained a laceration to the head. He was treated at KEMH and discharged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Firearm Incident

Around 9:30am on Thursday, Police attended a reported firearm incident at a Rockland Crescent, Warwick residence. It appears that the suspect, a 24 year old Warwick man, brandished what was believed to be a firearm in the presence of his mother, a 49 year old Warwick woman, while inside the residence. The suspect was subsequently arrested at the scene and an imitation firearm was recovered at the residence. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
