Injury RTC - At 9:15am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Dundonald Street and Brunswick Street in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on Dundonald Street and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 48 year old Southampton man, complained of pain to his body and was taken to KEMH for treatment. The driver of the car, a 33 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. The car received front end damage while the motorcycle was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Impaired Driving

At 1am today, Police were on mobile patrol on Middle Road in Southampton when they observed a taxi being driven in an erratic manner heading east. The officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 53 year old Sandys parish man, who showed signs of being under the influence. The Sandys parish man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 11pm on Saturday, Police attended a report of a taxi driver being under the influence traveling along South Road in Southampton. The officers located the vehicle and caused it to stop at the junction of South Road and Lovers Lane in Paget. While speaking with the driver, a 41 year old Devonshire man, the officers noticed he appeared to be intoxicated. The Devonshire man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained after refusing to take the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
