Update - Shooting in Middletown

Approximately 6pm Friday, November 6th Police attended a report of gunshots in the area of King Street and Middletown Lane in Pembroke. As a result, a 24 year old Pembroke man and a 31 year old Devonshire man were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. The 31 year old Devonshire man has since been released from the hospital and the 24 year old Pembroke man remains on a general ward.

Inquiries are ongoing. The Serious Crime Unit has 20 detectives investigating this incident and has adequate resources available to assist if necessary. A 26 year old Pembroke man is currently in custody in connection with this matter.

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact Acting Detective Chief Inspector Calvin Smith at the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011. We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in the Dundonald Street/Union Street/Parsons Road/King Street/Middletown Lane area between 4pm and 6pm Friday and saw anyone acting suspiciously.
