Reported Gunshots in Devonshire - Around 8am today, Police received a report of what was believed to be gunshots in the Railway Trail/North Shore Road, Devonshire area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot reports. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

Around 1:50am today, Police received a report of an assault at the Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club. Details about what occurred are unclear; however it appears that the victim, a 24 year old Pembroke man, was inside the premises when he was assaulted by unknown men. He sustained stab wounds to his head & body and was taken to KEMH for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Injury RTC

Around 8:40am on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Ord Road and Harvey Road in Paget involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Ord Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 19 year old Paget man, sustained injuries to his right knee and left hip. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 35 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
