November 1 - Weekend Report

Disturbance - Around 2:10am today, Police attended a reported disturbance on Bermudiana Road in Pembroke, outside LV’s nightclub. Officers were at the scene speaking with a male regarding another matter when an unknown male started to scuffle with the aforementioned individual. As there was a crowd of Halloween revelers in the immediate vicinity, additional Police units were called to the scene. The situation was quickly brought under control and three individuals (two men and a woman) were arrested. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

At 10:50pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery at the Maritime Museum in Dockyard (Sandys parish). Officers attended the scene a short time later and spoke with the victim, a 49 year old Hamilton parish man, who stated that he was using the bathroom facilities at the Maritime Museum when he was accosted by two unknown men. The offenders took an I-Pod Touch from the victim. Police subsequently arrested two suspects, a 22 year old Pembroke man and a 24 year old Southampton man, in connection with this incident. The I-Pod Touch was later found by a member of the public. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Gunshots in Jones Village

Around 8:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of what was believed to be gunshots in the Khyber Heights Lane (Jones Village), Warwick area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot reports. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Attempted Robbery

At 4:55pm on Saturday, Police received a report of an attempted robbery at Robinson’s Shell Marine Station in Sandys parish. It appears that around 10:30pm on Friday, two unknown men entered the premises and demanded money; with one of the offenders brandishing a bladed article. However, the employees working at the time confronted the two would be robbers, who ended up making good their escape empty handed. The suspects are described as two black males; one wearing all black clothing with a black helmet while the other was wearing a light brown jacket, dark coloured pants and a helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Halloween Incidents

There were a total of 29 reported Halloween related incidents, with 35 individuals arrested on Halloween itself for various offences. However, over the weekend there were a total of 52 arrests; besides the 35 arrests for various offences, four individuals were arrested for throwing eggs and six were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
