Following the recommendations of the Public Service Commission and the approval of His Excellency the Governor, Sir Richard Gozney KCMG, the Commissioner of Police is pleased to announce the following recent promotions:

To Superintendent:

Superintendent Antoine Daniels - Superintendent Antoine Daniels is a Bermudian officer, who joined the Bermuda Police Service as a Cadet in September, 1984. He has worked in various postings including uniform, Criminal Investigations, Drugs Unit, Operational Support Unit, Service Delivery Improvement Team and the Serious Crime Unit, where recently he successfully led a number of high profile murder investigations. Superintendent Daniels is a graduate of both the Robert Crawford High School for boys and the Bermuda College and is scheduled to graduate in July 2010, from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. He has also completed several police related training courses both in Bermuda and overseas, at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa, (Major Case Management) Quantico, Virginia (DEA) and National Police Improvement Agency (NPIA) at Bramshill, United Kingdom (International Commanders Programme). In December 2008, he attained the designation as a member of the Chartered Management Institute. Superintendent Daniels has received 2 Commissioner’s Commendations, 2 Merit Awards and several Letters of Good Work. On Monday 12th October 2009, he assumed the post of Officer in Charge of the Bermuda Police Service’s newly formed Serious Crime Division.

Superintendent Martin Weekes - Superintendent Weekes joined the Bermuda Police Service in 1988 (21 years of service). He has over 30 years of Policing experience, having served with the Kent County Constabulary in England since 1979 before joining the Bermuda Police Service. He has served in a wide variety of postings including Uniform Patrol, Child Victims Unit, Schools Liaison and as Parish Constable for Smith’s parish. As an Inspector and later a Chief Inspector he was posted to St. George's and Southside Police Stations with responsibility for Community Policing in the Eastern Area. He has most recently served as the Service Training and Recruitment officer.

Mr. Weekes, on promotion to Superintendent in 2009, commands the Community Policing Division where he is responsible for Police Stations island-wide, overseeing community policing initiatives. Superintendent Weekes has received training in England, the United States, the Caribbean and Canada. He recently completed the International Commanders Programme at the National Police Improvement Agency (NPIA), Police Staff College, Bramshill, UK.

Superintendent Weekes holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Policing and Police Studies from the University of Portsmouth in The UK and an Executive Diploma in Management from The Chartered Management Institute.

To Chief Inspector:

Chief Inspector Hashim Estwick – Chief Inspector Estwick joined the Bermuda Police Service in 1988 from Barbados , where he was a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force. He has worked in various departments including uniform patrol, Parish Constable, Criminal Investigation Department and the Narcotics Department. He is the recipient of a number of Commissioner’s Commendations, Merit Awards and Letters of Good Work.

Chief Inspector Estwick has a Bachelor Degree in Management with a major in Finance and attended various training programs, which include Supervisory Management, Negotiation & Labour Relations, Conflict Resolution, and mid-level Management and Police Trainer courses.

Chief Inspector Estwick was promoted to Sergeant in 2003 and he was posted to Somerset Police Station to manage a team of six uniform officers. He then moved on to be the Operations Planning Officer. In 2007 Mr. Estwick was promoted to Inspector and led a number of successful initiatives as an Incident Commander. He is also a former treasurer of the Bermuda Police Association, a representative at arbitrations, and a mentor to new police recruits. In addition he is an active member of the Crisis Intervention Stress Management (CISM) team. On a community level, Mr. Estwick is a council member of Citizens United to Eliminate Racism in Bermuda (CURB) and is an avid advocate of racial harmony and human rights; as well as being a member of the Toastmasters Club of Bermuda. Finally, in his free time he loves to read, to travel and participate in healthy physical activity.  

Chief Inspector Na’imah Williams – Chief Inspector Na’imah Rosalie Williams is a 33 year old mother of one. She joined the Bermuda Police Service as a Police Cadet in 1994 and later went on to be a Police Constable in 1995 at which time she received the Academic Award. Chief Inspector Williams was a Constable for 9 years and during that period she worked at the Hamilton Uniformed Patrols, Central CID, Traffic, Task Force, Special Branch and Cycle Crime. In 2004 she was promoted to Police Sergeant where she worked at the Hamilton Police Station as a Station and Patrol Sergeant. In 2007 Chief Inspector Williams was promoted to Police Inspector. During her time in this rank she worked as an Incident Commander, Officer in Charge of the Community Action Team, Complaints & Discipline, Special Branch and Service Delivery Improvement Team. During her police career Chief Inspector Williams has personally been active in the community as a youth mentor, trainer with CADA (Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention) and as a member of Citizens United to Eliminate Racism in Bermuda (CURB). In addition she has received a Police Commendation, Merit Award and Letter of Good Work. Finally Chief Inspector Williams has received an Associate Degree in Arts from the Bermuda College and a Bachelor Degree in Management (Hons) from University of Phoenix.
