Vehicle Fire - Around 3:35 this morning, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on Union Street in Pembroke. It appears that two motorcycles were extensively damaged by the blaze while a taxi received rear end smoke damage. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway; arson has not been ruled out. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 6pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish in the area of Somerset Bridge. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Somerset Road when the rider, a 17 year old Sandys parish woman, lost control and collided with a wall at the entrance to Robinson’s Shell Marine Station. The Sandys parish woman sustained head, neck and abdominal injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. At last check she was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The auxiliary cycle received damage to multiple areas. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 reported burglaries. There were also 8 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 4 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 6 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
