Burglary - Around 12:15pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Somerset Road, Sandys parish residence. The complainant stated that around 5:30am that day she awoke to discover that an unknown culprit had gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a black leather handbag containing a quantity of cash, a watch and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Police Week 2009 (October 4th – 10th)

This year’s theme – Our Youth … Our Commitment! There are several community related events taking place during Police Week in keeping with our theme and we encourage all members of the public to come out and participate!

  • Sunday, October 4, 2009 – Non-denominational inter-faith church service at BUEI, 10am start.
  • Monday, October 5, 2009 – Police Awards at Cedarbridge Cafeteria, 5pm start.
  • Tuesday, October 6, 2009 – Police Displays at Police Field, Prospect, 11am Seniors Tea, 12 noon start.
  • Wednesday, October 7, 2009 - Commissioner for a Day – Police Headquarters, Prospect, 9am to 2pm.
  • Wednesday, October 7, 2009 – Beat the Retreat – Kings Square St. George’s, 9pm start.
  • Thursday, October 8, 2009 – Sports Day, Police Field; 9:30am start. BBQ at Police Recreation Club (PRC) 5pm start; Sports Day Awards at PRC, 6pm start.
  • Friday, October 9, 2009 – Ex/Former Police Officers Memorial & Social – Police Recreation Club, 5pm start.
  • Saturday, October 10, 2009 – Police Ball, Fairmont Southampton Princess Resort; 6:30pm Cocktails, 7:30pm start. Tickets are $125.
