A co-coordinated effort by Police resulted in the arrest of a 27 year old St. George’s man on suspicion of possessing a firearm. The arrest of Gregory Outerbridge happened around 3:45am Saturday, September 12th on York Street in St. George’s. Outerbridge was the pillion passenger on a motorcycle ridden by a 29 year old Hamilton parish man who was also arrested. That individual was subsequently bailed. A semi-automatic pistol and a quantity of controlled drugs believed to be cannabis were seized at the time of the arrests.

Outerbridge appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 14th where he faced a charge of possessing a firearm and ammunition. As it was an indictable offence no plea was necessary and the accused was remanded into custody by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner. Outerbridge will reappear on Monday, September 21st for mention.

Head of the operation that led to the arrest of Gregory Outerbridge, Chief Inspector Darrin Simons, praised his team’s efforts for bringing the accused into custody without incident. “The professionalism of the officers in this operation led to the best possible outcome; a semi-automatic pistol off the streets and the suspect taken into custody safely.”
