Arrest – Firearm Related Offences - Two separate incidents of note involving recent firearm offences:-
During the early hours of this morning (Saturday) Police arrested a 27 year old St. George’s man and a 29 year old Hamilton parish man on suspicion of possessing a firearm. A court appearance for both men is anticipated in due course.
On Thursday 10th September Customs Officers at the L. F. W. International Airport alerted Police to a 60 year old American woman who having just arrived on the island was subject to a secondary inspection by H. M. Customs and was found in possession of an empty ‘ammunition clip.’ She was subsequently arrested by Police on suspicion of offences contrary to the Firearms Act and remains in Police custody whilst inquiries into the matter are completed.
