Firearm Incident - Around 10:45pm on Thursday, Police received a report of gunshots in the Long Bay Lane/Daniel's Head, Sandys parish area. Officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the vicinity. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious individuals or activity in this area to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

Damage Only RTC

Around 1:20am today (Friday), Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Longford Road. It appears that a car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, a 55 year old Southampton man lost control, colliding with the sidewalk and wooden railing causing the vehicle to overturn before landing back on all four wheels. The driver and sole occupant was not injured; however the car was extensively damaged. The Southampton man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving due to his demeanour at the scene; however he passed the alco-analyser test at Hamilton Police Station and was released after being issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

Burglary

Around 10:30am on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Alexandra Road, Devonshire residence. The complainant stated that sometime between midnight and 9am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole a black 37” Toshiba TV and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
