Damage Only RTC - Around 9:35 this morning, Police received a report of a single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Paynters Road involving a Police vehicle. It appears that a marked Police car was traveling along Harrington Sound Road when the driver lost control and collided with a tree stump resulting in front end damage to the vehicle. The officer driving the Police car at the time was not injured.

Burglary

Around 2:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Home Port Drive, Hamilton parish residence. The complainant stated that she was inside her apartment when she saw an unknown man outside. A male acquaintance who was visiting the apartment confronted the suspect, who fled the scene on foot. The male acquaintance gave chase and was joined by another member of the public who saw what was happening while working at a nearby construction site. As a result the culprit was apprehended and subsequently arrested by Police. A Motorola cellular phone as well as a quantity of cash and jewelry was discovered missing from the apartment; however most of these items were recovered. Inquiries into this incident are underway. The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the actions of the two men who apprehended the culprit in this matter.

Around 9:40am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Fork Lane, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 1am and 6:30am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole a quantity of cash, a BlackBerry Curve cellular phone and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
