Sudden Death - Around 9am today, Police received a report of a man’s lifeless body being found at a residence on Town Hill Road in Smith’s parish. It appears that the 26 year old guest worker was found in a non responsive state by his fellow co-workers as they performed their duties as landscapers. The 26 year old Hamilton parish resident was pronounced dead by an on call physician at the scene at 9:48am. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified. Foul play is not suspected.

Vehicle Fire

At 4am today, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on Cooks Hill Road in Sandys parish. The complainant stated that he awoke to find his car ablaze. The extent of the damage done to the vehicle is unclear at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

Around 1am today, Police attended a reported robbery in Dockyard in the vicinity of Snorkel Park. It appears that a female visitor walking in the area was approached by an unknown man who brandished a bladed article and demanded money. A struggle took place and the victim sustained an injury to her hand as a result. The offender then made good his escape. The female visitor was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of her injury. The suspect is described as a brown skinned male, approximately 5’6” tall of stocky build wearing a white T-shirt and dark coloured pants; he has a short afro and was clean shaven with a round face. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Police also received reports of two robberies that occurred on Warwick Long Bay around 12:30pm and 12:45pm on Tuesday respectively. In both cases the culprit approached individuals on the beach (first a group of local residents, then a visiting couple) brandishing a bladed article and demanding money. The offender managed to make good his escape with a Nokia cellular phone in the first instance and a quantity of cash in the second. None of the complainants were injured in either robbery. The suspect is described as a brown skinned male with a close haircut, approximately 5’7” – 5’ 10” tall wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white & black sneakers. Inquiries into these incidents are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
