The Commissioner of Police is pleased to announce the following promotions: Promoted to Sergeant, Sergeant Clifford S. Roberts - Sergeant Clifford. S. Roberts Jr., a Bermudian, joined the Bermuda Police Service in 1986 as a Police Cadet. He then completed the Basic Training Course where he received the Baton of Honour. He has served as a Parish Constable as well as in Cycle Squad, Traffic Division and Narcotics. Presently he is attached to COMOPS.

Sergeant Lawrence “Larry” Dean - Sergeant Larry Dean, a Bermudian, has been a member of the Bermuda Police Service for the past 25 years, serving in the Marine and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Units for much of that time. He is a dedicated husband and father of one, and looks forward to the opportunities and challenges this promotion will bring.

Sergeant Sharnita Tankard - Sergeant Sharnita Tankard, a Bermudian, has been serving as a Police Officer for 21 years. She commenced her service as a Police Cadet in 1989. Sergeant Tankard has worked in various departments such as Uniform Patrol, Western Parish Constable, Taskforce (now PSU) and presently she works within the Child Victims Unit. She has a 14 year old daughter Shakaila Tankard.

Sergeant Roger Saints - Sergeant Roger Saints, a Bermudian, is a Graduate of Warwick Academy He has been a Police officer for 10 years and has worked in various departments within the Service such as Central Uniform, PSU, Narcotics, and presently he is in the K-9 Unit.

Sergeant Narase Samaroo - Sergeant Narase Samaroo graduated in 1987 from the University of the West Indies with a degree in Business Management. In 1998 he joined the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. In 2003 Sergeant Samaroo joined the Bermuda Police Service and has served in the Western Criminal Investigation Unit. He is married with two sons and is also a Lay Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Promoted to Inspector

Inspector Peter Charlemagne - Inspector Peter Charlemagne is a native of St. Lucia and served in the Royal St. Lucia Police Force for 6 years, with 13 years of overall policing experience. He came to serve as a Police officer in Bermuda and has worked in PSU, Roads Policing, Operational Policing, Serious Crime Unit and is presently Officer in Charge of the Child Victims Unit. He holds a Certificate in Criminology from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and recently completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He is married and credits his success to the support of his family.

Inspector Markland Telemaque - Inspector Markland Telemaque hails from the island of Jamaica where he served as an officer for 8 years. He arrived in Bermuda in 2000 and was posted to Central Uniform Division. He has worked in Narcotics where he worked on many high profile cases. He has 3 Commissioner’s Commendations and has completed several supervisory and management courses. He is married with one daughter.
