Injury RTC - Around 5:45pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Morgan Hill. It appears that a rental cycle was traveling west on Somerset Road when the rider, a 51 year old German woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The cycle then struck a utility pole; as a result the rider was thrown over an embankment. She sustained head injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The visitor’s rental cycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 12:15pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Lovers Lane in Paget involving a motorcycle and a taxi. It appears that both vehicles were traveling east on South Road with the taxi in front of the motorcycle when the taxi came to a stop. The rider of the motorcycle, a 32 year old Paget man, was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the taxi. The Paget man sustained cuts & abrasions to his head, legs and chest. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the taxi, a 56 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the taxi received extensive rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
