Handbag Snatch - At 5:35pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch at the junction of Middle Road and Tribe Road #1 in Devonshire. It appears that the victims, a 23 year old man and a 24 year old man (both French nationals), were riding a rental cycle traveling east on Middle Road when an unknown man on another rental cycle rode up from behind and grabbed a bag from the visitors’ cycle. The offender then made good his escape via Tribe Road #1. The visitors were not injured. The bag contained a quantity of cash, a black Olympus camera and personal items. The suspect is described as a black male with shoulder length dreadlocks wearing a white T-shirt. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 9pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Orchard Lane, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 11pm on Monday and 9pm on Tuesday an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry. Inquires into this incident are underway.

Around 4pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary involving an alleged  firearm at a Devon Heights Road, Devonshire residence. Details about what occurred are unclear at the moment; however it appears three unknown men gained entry into the home where two female occupants were present. One of the female complainants reported seeing what she believed to be a firearm. The three burglars then made good their escape with the women’s handbags. Inquiries are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

Missing Juvenile – Found

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 14 year old Champagne Carmichael. She was subsequently located by Police safe and well.
