The Bermuda Police Service would like to congratulate the following officers on their recent promotions. From Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner of Police – Paul M. Wright: Assistant Commissioner Wright is responsible for Serious & Organised Crime and Intelligence.

He has over 30 years of Policing experience having served with the Humberside Police in England for six years before joining the Bermuda Police Service in 1985. He has served in a wide variety of postings including Community Policing, Criminal Investigations Unit, Special Branch, Intelligence and the Serious & Organised Crime Divisions. In 2001 he assumed responsibility for Special Branch and the Government Security Office upon promotion to Inspector.

He was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2004 and served as the Crime Manager for the Service. He also served for extended periods as the Acting Commander for both the Intelligence Division and the Community Policing Division during 2006 and 2007. Upon promotion to Superintendent in 2007 he commanded the Intelligence Division where he implemented a modernization strategy to direct and underpin Intelligence-led Policing. In 2009 he assumed command of the Serious & Organised Crime Division. He is also a member of the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee.

In addition to completing the International Strategic Leadership Program at the Bramshill Police Staff College in England, Assistant Commissioner Wright is a certified member of the Bermuda Insurance Institute and also the recipient of a Master’s Degree (MSc) from the Scarman Centre at the University of Leicester, England. In 2008 he was also admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

From Inspector to Chief Inspector (Community Policing Division) – Sean T. Field-Lament:

Chief Inspector Field-Lament (pictured left), a Bermudian, was appointed to the Bermuda Police Service on the 31st May 1985 following attendance at University in Canada. He has served in Bermuda in Western, Central, Eastern, Operations/Traffic Divisions, Narcotics, CID, Training and Administration. He has more recently served as Acting Chief Inspector in the Community Policing Division and Service Delivery Improvement Team. Mr. Field–Lament has completed several development courses; he has also been a keen and avid sportsman, representing the Service and Bermuda at Rugby. He has received three Commissioner’s Commendations and several notes of good work done. He is married with three children.

From Inspector to Chief Inspector (Community Policing Division) – Darrin E. M. Simons:

Chief Inspector Simons (pictured right), a Bermudian, was appointed to the Bermuda Police Service on the 18th March 1994 following working and living in Canada and the USA and working as an electrical contractor in Bermuda. He has served in Bermuda in the Eastern Division, Crime Prevention, Training, Service Delivery Improvement Team, and the Forensic Support Unit. He has more recently served as Acting Chief Inspector in the Community Policing Division. He has completed several development courses and is completing his Master’s degree from Royal Roads University, British Columbia, Canada. He has served as an invaluable member of the training team and the Bermuda Police Association, receiving several notes of good work done. He is married with two children.
