Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 5:20pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision at the junction of North Shore Road and Berkeley Road in Pembroke involving a car and a van. It appears that the car was traveling east on North Shore Road and the van was traveling north on Berkeley Road when the vehicles collided at the junction. The driver of the car, a 35 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. The driver of the van, a 49 year old Pembroke man, was also uninjured; however, he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage while the van received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 6:15am today, Police received a report of a burglary at a Granaway Heights Road, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between July 8 and July 13, 2009 an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was off island. It does not appear that the culprit removed any items. Inquires into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 reported burglaries. There were also 18 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 8 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 6 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
