Industrial Accident - Around 2:55 this morning, Police received a report of an industrial accident at The Royal Gazette. Details about what occurred are unclear; however, it appears that a 29 year old Southampton man working in the production department seriously injured his right hand. The injury is not believed to be life threatening. He was taken to KEMH by co-workers for treatment. The government health & safety officer was notified.

Injury RTC

Around 2:10 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with Swansbay Hill. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road when it collided with a parked car. The rider, a 33 year old Southampton man, sustained head injuries and a broken leg. The Southampton man was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the car received moderate rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact PC Adrian George on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 9:55pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Commonland Point Road, Hamilton parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 11am on Thursday, June 25th and 4:30pm on Wednesday, July 1st an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while she was overseas. The culprit stole a Nokia cellular phone, a BlackBerry ‘Pearl’ cellular phone and two ‘Gateway’ computer speakers. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 4:10pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Warwick Lane, Warwick residence. The complainant stated sometime between 8:50am and 3:50pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of electronic equipment including a black 27” Sony flat screen TV and two black HP laptop computers as well as a gold ring. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
