Suspicious Package

Around 3:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended a report of a suspicious package at Freisenbruch-Meyer on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. As a precautionary measure an area of Front Street from the junction with Court Street to the junction with Queen Street was closed to all traffic for approximately two hours. In addition, the Freisenbruch-Meyer building was evacuated as well as the buildings adjacent to it.
After a preliminary test conducted at the scene by the government analyst, the substance in the package appears to be some form of narcotic. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
