Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - At 12:50am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with Tankard Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Somerset Road when the driver, a 22 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The driver was not injured; however she was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Her front seat passenger, a 22 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was also uninjured. The car received extensive damage to its front end and right side. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 9:35pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Court Street and Dundonald Street in Pembroke involving an auxiliary cycle and a motorcycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling along Court Street and the motorcycle was traveling along Dundonald Street when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 20 year old St. George’s man, sustained a broken left ankle. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The rider of the motorcycle, a 43 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained an abrasion to his left wrist. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 8:25am on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Shawn Acres Lane, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 1am and 3am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a silver 42” Sony flat screen TV and a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 8 reported burglaries. There were also 12 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 5 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 8 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
