Witness Appeal - Fatal RTC - The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of 25 year old Christopher Alves which occurred around 10pm Thursday on Knapton Hill in Smith’s parish near the junction with Spanish Heights Road. Any witnesses or anyone with any information about the collision is encouraged to contact PC Ian Taitt at the Roads Policing Unit on 299-4390, 515-9999 or the main Police number 295-0011.

Attempted Robbery

Around 12:20am on Saturday, Police received a report of an attempted robbery. The victim, a 29 year old Pembroke man, stated that around midnight that day he was walking along Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. As he approached the junction with Woodbourne Avenue five unknown females on three auxiliary cycles approached him, with one of the females brandishing a pointed object. The Pembroke man managed to avoid the unknown females and walked to his residence on Cemetery Lane; however on arrival the same group of females approached him and cornered him outside. Despite this the 29 year old Pembroke man was again able to elude the young women and escape into his home. He was not injured and nothing was taken from him. The suspects, three 16 year old Pembroke women, a 16 year old Devonshire woman and a 14 year old Devonshire girl were subsequently located by Police and arrested. Their cycles were also impounded. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 reported burglaries. There were also 17 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 5 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 8 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.

Missing Juvenile

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Troylene Anderson. The teenager was last seen around 10:30pm on Thursday, May 21st 2009 in the Smith’s parish area. She is described as light brown skinned, 5’5” tall of thick build weighing approximately 186 pounds with black hair. Troylene Anderson was last seen wearing black jean pants, a black hooded jacket and a pink shirt. She also has a muffler burn on her right leg above the ankle. The teenager is known to frequent the Pembroke area and has been in contact with family recently. Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 16 year old Troylene Anderson to contact the Child Victims Unit on 295-0011.
