The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

During the week of Monday, May 25th - Monday June 1st 2009 there were:

  • Reported Injury Collisions = 20
  • Reported Damage Only Collisions = 27
  • Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving = 2
  • Vehicles Reported Taken Without Their Owners’ Consent = 12
  • Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: Smith’s parish = 1, Devonshire = 1, Pembroke = 3, Warwick = 2, Southampton = 3 and Sandy’s parish = 2.

The majority of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles with 1 car also reported stolen during the period. Of the 12 vehicles reported stolen, 3 were subsequently recovered, including the car.

Missing Juvenile - Troylene Anderson

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Troylene Anderson. The teenager was last seen around 10:30pm on Thursday, May 21st 2009 in the Smith’s parish area. She is described as light brown skinned, 5’5” tall of thick build weighing approximately 186 pounds with black hair. Troylene Anderson was last seen wearing black jean pants, a black hooded jacket and a pink shirt. She also has a muffler burn on her right leg above the ankle. The teenager is known to frequent the Pembroke area and has been in contact with family recently. Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 16 year old Troylene Anderson to contact the Child Victims Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 6:50am on Monday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near Five Star Island. It appears that a car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver, a 55 year old Pembroke woman, lost control and collided with a roadside railing. The Pembroke woman complained of stiffness to her back. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
