Assault - Around 4:10pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of an assault on North Street in Pembroke. It appears that around 4pm that day the victim, a 15 year old young man from Pembroke, was walking along North Street when he was approached by four young men, one of whom he knew. A scuffle took place and the Pembroke teenager was injured. During the scuffle a member of the public driving in the area stopped her car and intervened. The assailants then fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to KEMH where he was treated for relatively minor facial injuries and released. A 14 year old young man from Devonshire was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway. The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the actions of the member of the public who stopped to assist the victim in this matter. Injury RTC

Around 12:20pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near Jew’s Bay involving two cars. It appears that one car was traveling east on Middle Road and the other car was exiting a driveway in the area when the vehicles collided; then the eastbound car struck a wall. The driver of the eastbound car, a 21 year old Sandy’s parish woman, sustained a laceration to her lip. The driver of the other car, believed to be a Warwick man, was not injured. The eastbound car received extensive front end damage while the other car received moderate damage to its right side. The wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory - Helmet Offences

The Roads Policing Unit would like to advise the motoring public that officers will be patrolling the island’s roads focusing on helmet offences. Anyone riding a motorcycle/auxiliary cycle without a helmet, with the helmet unfastened or improperly fastened will be ticketed.

Update - Recovered Jewelry

There has been an overwhelming response to the Bermuda Police Service appeal regarding a quantity of recovered jewelry. We would like to assure the public that all calls and messages received inquiring about these items will be returned in a timely manner; however, due to the current volume of calls it is not possible to respond immediately. The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their understanding & co-operation during this process.
