Injury RTC

At 9:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Palmetto Road and Border Lane North in Pembroke involving a truck and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on Palmetto Road and the truck was exiting Border Lane North when the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 28 year old Pembroke man, was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a head injury, broken right arm & right leg as well as internal injuries. He is currently in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the truck, a 39 year old Sandy’s parish man, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the truck received minor damage to its right side. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

At 4:25pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an assault. It appears that the victim, a 52 year old Devonshire man (bus driver), stopped the bus outside of St. David’s Primary School when an argument took place with one of the passengers, a 15 year old young man from St. George’s. The teenager then allegedly assaulted the bus driver who sustained swelling to his head. His glasses were also broken. As a result the 15 year old was arrested. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Disturbance

Around 1:45pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported disturbance at The Berkeley Institute. It appears that around 1:40pm that day the victim, a 17 year old young man from Devonshire was about to leave the school grounds when a group of young men on motorcycles approached him and assaulted him using crash helmets. The suspects then made good their escape. The victim attended KEMH for treatment of minor bruising and was later released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

At 9:20am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road. It appears that a car was traveling west on Harbour Road when the driver, a 22 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Pembroke man was not injured; however the car was extensively damaged. The wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
