Burglary

Around 6:10am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Serpentine Road, Pembroke business. The complainant stated that some time between 8:30pm on Friday and 5:40am on Saturday, an unknown culprit gained entry into an office on the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 11pm on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at Rosemont Guest Apartments in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victims who are overseas contract workers. They stated that around 10:30pm that day they heard a knock at the door of their apartment. When one of the occupants answered the door two unknown men forced their way in, demanding money. The victims told the suspects they didn’t have any, so the intruders took a black & orange Sony Ericcson cellular phone and a black Dell laptop computer before making good their escape on a motorcycle heading west on Rosemont Avenue. The victims were not injured. The suspects are described as two black men; one was tall and of thick build, while the other was short and of thick build. Both suspects were wearing black clothing and black helmets with black visors. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

At 3:15pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on The Lane in Paget near the junction with Appleby Lane (in the vicinity of Aberfeldy Nurseries) involving an SUV and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle and the SUV were both traveling east on The Lane (with the SUV in front of the motorcycle) when the motorcycle collided with the back of the SUV. The rider of the cycle, a 27 year old Southampton man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained at Hamilton Police Station after failing the alco-analyser test. The driver of the SUV, a 28 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the SUV received moderate rear end damage. Traffic was diverted away from the scene of the collision for approximately an hour, causing some delays. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
