Attempted Burglary

Around 11pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a Warwick guest property. It appears that an unknown man, brandishing a weapon and demanding money, attempted to gain entry into a cottage on the premises. However the male occupant of the accommodation shouted for help and the suspect made good his escape empty handed. The victims, a 48 year old Canadian man and his wife, a 50 year old Canadian woman who are visiting the island, were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crime Stoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477.

Burglary

Around 5:50pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a West Avenue, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:40am and 5:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a black Toshiba laptop computer and a pink Casio digital camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
