Disturbance - Around 1:05am today, Police received a report of a disturbance at the Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club. There was no disturbance taking place on Police arrival; however, a 30 year old Pembroke man was subsequently treated at KEMH for a laceration to his face. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

Update – Fatal RTC

Following an autopsy by an overseas forensic pathologist, the Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 44 year old Winston Burrows. Mr. Burrows died when the car he was driving burst into flames following a collision with a truck around 1:30am Sunday, April 5th on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Dunscombe Road. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The death of Winston Burrows marks the 5th road traffic fatality for 2009.

Over the Good Friday holiday weekend Police will be conducting high visibility patrols throughout the island and at various public events scheduled to take place. The Bermuda Police Service is also encouraging members of the public to enjoy themselves responsibly - if you are planning to drink, don’t drive; use a designated driver or public transportation/taxis to make sure you arrive at your intended destination safely.
