Fatal RTC - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 38 year old Emmanuel Sousa of Pembroke. Around 10:40pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Twin Lanes South involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and the car was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 38 year old Pembroke man, received serious head injuries and was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however, he was later pronounced dead at 11:30pm on Sunday. The driver of the car, a 23 year old Hamilton parish man, was not injured. The car received front end damage while the motorcycle was extensively damaged. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Delworth Smith on 295-0011.

The death of Emmanuel Sousa marks the 4th road fatality of 2009.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries. There were also 13 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 4 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 10 vehicles (all two wheeled) reported taken without their owners’ consent.
