Road Policing Unit Statistics-The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the island's roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

 

 

 

During the week of Monday, February 2nd - Monday, February 9th 2009 there were:

  • Reported Injury Collisions = 14
  • Reported Damage Only Collisions = 29
  • Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving = 5
  • Vehicles Reported Taken Without Their Owners' Consent = 32
  • Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: St. George's = 1, Hamilton parish = 3, Devonshire = 1, Pembroke = 17, Paget = 3, Warwick = 4, Southampton = 1 and Sandy's parish = 2.

The majority of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with 1 car & 1 motocross cycle also reported stolen during the period. Of the 32 vehicles reported stolen 6 were subsequently recovered, including the car.

Missing Person - Medhi David Yahi

The Bermuda Police Service is renewing its appeal to the public for any information on the whereabouts of 30 year old French national Medhi David Yahi. Mr. Yahi, described as a white male approximately 5'7" tall of slim build, clean shaven with black hair was last seen around 8pm on Saturday, January 31st at the Fairmont Southampton Resort where he apparently attended the Heather Nova concert.

The search continues for Mr. Yahi and Police are encouraging anyone who may have attended the Heather Nova concert on the evening of January 31st, particularly anyone who may have photos or video footage of the event, to call the main Police number 295-0011.
