Burglary

At 9:55am on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Radnor Estate Road, Hamilton parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between Wednesday and 8am on Thursday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 9:10am on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Southampton guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime between 12:05am and 8am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their room. The culprit stole a black & tan checkered purse containing a silver Olympus digital camera, a cellular phone, a quantity of cash and personal items.

That morning officers also attended another reported burglary at the same Southampton guest property where the complainants, who are visitors to the island, stated that sometime between 11:45pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday, an unknown culprit gained entry into their room. The culprit stole a quantity of cash.

Inquiries into both incidents are underway.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of 77 year old Gladwin Johnston that occurred at the junction of South Road and Upland Lane in Warwick around 12:30pm Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Mr. Johnston was struck by a motorcycle traveling west on South Road as he attempted to cross the road and subsequently died on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 of his injuries. We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen a white car and a white van that stopped to render assistance to Mr. Johnston following the collision. We are encouraging the occupants of these vehicles or any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Mark Monk at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
