Around 8pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Turtle Bay Lane, involving two cars. It appears that a blue Chevrolet was traveling north on South Road and a silver Volkswagen was traveling in the opposite direction when the driver of the Chevrolet, a 52 year old Southampton woman, lost control attempting to negotiate a bend in the road and the vehicles collided. The Southampton woman was taken to KEMH for treatment of bruises, cuts & abrasions to her body. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 52 year old Sandys parish man, sustained a cut to his right arm and swelling to his leg. He was advised to seek medical attention for his injuries. Both vehicles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 11pm on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at an East Shore Lane, Sandys parish residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 7:10am and 7pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Activity

Over the Dame Lois Browne-Evans holiday on Tuesday, there were no arrests made on suspicion of impaired driving; however there were 7 reported burglaries (1 in Smiths parish, 2 in Devonshire, 2 in Pembroke, 1 in Southampton and 1 in Sandys parish). There were also 10 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 10 auxiliary cycles/motorcycles reported taken without their owners consent.
