Handbag Snatch

At 6:15pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Cockburn Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Pender Road. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, who are visitors to the island. The visitors stated that they were riding their rental cycle out of Dockyard with another visiting couple who were on a second rental cycle when two motorcycles carrying three unknown men approached them from behind. The suspects then made good their escape. The visitors were not injured. The knapsack contained a quantity of cash, a Canon digital camera, a Motorola cellular phone and personal items. The suspects were described as three young black males, believed to be 15–17 years old; two of them were wearing helmets with visors, the other wore a helmet without a visor.
