Injury RTC

Around 12:15am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Front Street in the City of Hamilton, near the junction with Parliament Street involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Front Street when the car exited a parking space and the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 19 year old Pembroke woman, sustained bruises to her left ankle, hand and hip. The cycles passenger, a 19 year old Warwick woman, sustained abrasions and a laceration to her left leg. Both women were taken to KEMH for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the car, a 33 year old Smiths parish man, was not injured. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 1:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Ferry Drive, St. Georges residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:45am and 1pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. However, it does not appear that anything was taken. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
