Robbery

Around 12:15am on Sunday, Police received a report of a robbery on Laffan Street in Pembroke. The victim, a 29 year old Pembroke man, stated that around 10pm on Saturday, he was walking on Laffan Street when he was attacked by a group of men. The assailants pushed the victim to the ground, kicked him about the body and stole his Casio watch before making good their escape on foot. The Pembroke man did not report being injured. The suspects were described as 8 young black men believed to be in their 20s. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Attempted Robbery

At 11:30pm on Saturday, Police attended KEMH after a report of an attempted robbery on Parsons Road in Pembroke. The victim, a 40 year old Pembroke man, stated between 10pm and 10:15pm that day he was walking on Parsons Road when he was approached by a group of young men demanding money. A struggle took place and one of the young men struck the victim with a bladed article. The Pembroke man then chased his assailants, who managed to make good their escape on foot. The victim sustained a laceration to the head, which is not believed to be life threatening. The suspects are described as a group of 15 youths believed to be between 12 and 15 years old. The main suspect is described as a brown skinned male of medium build wearing a light coloured t-shirt. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Assault

Around 11:30pm on Friday, Police attended a reported assault on Government Hill Road in St. Georges. It appears that the victim, a 50 year old St. Georges man, sustained facial injuries after being assaulted by the suspect, who is known to the victim. The St. Georges man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway by the St. Georges Criminal Investigation Unit.
