Assault

Around 10:35pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported assault at the Mid Atlantic Boat Club on North Shore Road in Devonshire. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 42 year old Pembroke man, who works as a security guard at the premises. The security guard stated that around 10pm a 23 year old Pembroke man entered the club and was subsequently asked to leave. After arguing with the security guard, the 23 year old left the premises; however, he returned approximately 20 minutes later with two other men and proceeded to assault the victim. During the assault, one of the assailants used a baseball bat to strike the security guard in the face. The suspects then made good their escape. The victim was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of facial injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The suspects are known to the victim. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 8 reported burglaries. There were also 20 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 13 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 10 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
