Robbery

At 11:15pm on Monday, Police attended a reported robbery at the junction of Angle Street and Princess Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 38 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 10:40pm he was walking along Princess Street towards his Angle Street residence. On reaching the junction, an unknown individual pushed the Pembroke man to the ground from behind; he was then assaulted by 4 unknown men, who kicked and punched him about the body before taking a brown wallet containing a quantity of cash and making good their escape on foot towards Dundonald Street. The victim sustained a bruise to his right foot and pain to the right side of his face as well as his left arm; however he declined medical treatment. The suspects are described as four black males; one of the men was approximately 55” tall, of heavy build wearing a black T-shirt and black pants. The three other men were wearing white & black T-shirts. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

At 10:20pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Old Military Road in St. Georges near the junction with Slippery Hill involving a jeep and a rental cycle. It appears that the rental cycle was traveling east on Old Military Road and the jeep was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided as the cycle attempted to negotiate a right hand bend. The rider of the rental cycle, a 17 year old young man from St. Georges, received multiple injuries including head injuries; he was taken to KEMH for treatment, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the jeep, a 46 year old St. Georges man, was not injured. The cycle was extensively damaged while the jeep received damage to its front end. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
