Sudden Death

Around 9:30 this morning, Police received a report of an unresponsive male at a King Street, Pembroke premises. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 10:32am. Inquiries into this incident are underway; however, there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.

Handbag Snatch

Around 10:15pm on Friday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on South Road in Warwick, near the junction with Tribe Road #5. The victim, a 32 year old Warwick woman, stated that earlier she was walking west on South Road when an unknown man approached her on foot and snatched her handbag from her. The suspect then ran off, making good his escape on the back of a motorcycle ridden by another unknown man. Apparently the victim was not injured. The handbag contained personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Burglary

Around 2:15pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 4pm on Friday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver Motorola cellular phone and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 7:30pm on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at a St. Lukes Lane, St. Georges residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 8:25am and 6:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a PlayStation video game system, one PlayStation game, a Motorola cellular phone and an HP laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
